A seamless steel pipe, a kind of hollowed steel cylinder, is extensively used for transferring various liquid and gaseous materials, such as water, petroleum, natural gas, coal gas, and more. Sometimes, a seamless steel tube is also applicable for delivering of slurries, powders and fine solid materials. In addition, the seamless steel pipe can be used for making boilers, as well as the casing for concrete pilings that usually used in construction projects.

As compared with round bar and other solid steel bars with the same torsional strength, the seamless steel pipe has the advantage that it is lighter in weight.
